Tony Hinchcliffe

Who is Tony Hinchcliffe?

Tony Hinchcliffe is a comic, writer, and podcast host known for his sharp, roast-style humor and quick wit. Born on June 8, 1984, in Youngstown, Ohio, he was raised by a single mother on the city's north side. Attending Ursuline High School, Tony developed a penchant for roasting as a defense mechanism in his rough neighborhood, a skill that would later define his comedic style.

In 2007, Tony moved to Los Angeles to pursue comedy, starting as a doorman at The Comedy Store in Hollywood. This position allowed him to immerse himself in the comedy scene, and he soon became known for his biting humor, often roasting fellow comedians and audience members. His unique approach caught the attention of established comics like Jeff Ross, leading to writing opportunities for the Comedy Central Roast series, including episodes featuring James Franco, Justin Bieber, and Rob Lowe.

In 2013, Tony launched the live weekly podcast Kill Tony, recorded at The Comedy Store. The show features aspiring comedians performing one-minute sets, followed by critiques from Tony and guest panelists, providing a platform for emerging talent.

Tony continues to be a prominent figure in the comedy world, known for his unapologetic style and contributions to the art of roasting.
