Who is Shane Gillis?

Shane Michael Gillis, born on December 11, 1987, in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, is a stand-up comic recognized for his sharp wit and unfiltered humor. He began his comedy career in the early 2010s, performing at local clubs and quickly gaining attention for his bold comedic style. In 2016, Gillis won the "Philly's Funniest" competition at Helium Comedy Club, a significant milestone that propelled his career forward. His talent was further acknowledged in 2019 when he was named an "Up-Next" comic at Comedy Central's Clusterfest in San Francisco and a "New Face" at the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal.

Beyond stand-up, Gillis co-hosts "Matt and Shane's Secret Podcast" with fellow comedian Matt McCusker, where they discuss a wide range of topics with their characteristic humor. Despite this setback, he continued to build his career, releasing successful comedy specials and embarking on national tours. In 2023, he released his second special, "Shane Gillis: Beautiful Dogs," on Netflix, further solidifying his status in the comedy world.

Harold
Steven Wright’s Harold is a brilliantly surreal and hilarious dive into the mind of a 1960s third grader. This is one of my all-time favorite books, and the audiobook is a must-listen with Wright’s perfect delivery.
