Robert "Bobby" Kelly

Who is Robert "Bobby" Kelly?

Robert "Bobby" Kelly, born on October 8, 1970, in Medford, Massachusetts, is a stand-up comic and actor renowned for his candid and abrasive comedic style. His journey into comedy began in 1987 when he discovered stand-up while attending the International Conference of Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous. Inspired by comedy albums, he performed his first stand-up routine in 1991 at a school talent competition as part of the sketch comedy troupe "Al and the Monkeys."

In the early 1990s, Bobby pursued comedy full-time, performing at various clubs and colleges nationwide. His dedication led to appearances on notable platforms, including the Opie and Anthony radio show starting in 2004. He gained further recognition touring with comedians Dane Cook, Gary Gulman, and Jay Davis on the "Tourgasm" tour, which aired as a comedy documentary series on HBO in June 2006.

Bobby's acting career includes roles such as Louis C.K.'s brother, Robbie, on the FX series "Louie," and Bam Bam on Denis Leary’s FX show "Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll." He also appeared in films like "Good Luck Chuck" (2007) and "Ghost Town" (2008).

In 2010, Bobby launched the podcast "You Know What Dude!" on the RiotCast network, which he co-owns. The podcast, recorded weekly at the Comedy Cellar, features candid discussions with fellow comedians and has become a staple in the comedy podcast scene.

Bobby's comedy specials include "Bobby Kelly: Live at the Village Underground" (2014), directed by Bobcat Goldthwait, and "Bobby Kelly: Kill Box" (2022), produced and directed by Louis C.K.. His honest take on his own life and relationships makes his comedy clever, abrasive, funny, and refreshingly vulnerable. Bobby Kelly is by far the funniest member of the Regz podcast.
