Who is Godfrey?

Godfrey C. Danchimah Jr., known professionally as Godfrey, is a Nigerian-American comic, actor, and podcast host. Born on July 21, 1969, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Nigerian parents, he was raised in Chicago, Illinois. Godfrey's comedic style is characterized by his energetic delivery and sharp observational humor.

Godfrey began his stand-up career in Chicago, performing at local comedy clubs. His talent quickly garnered attention, leading to appearances on BET, VH1, and Comedy Central. He also worked as a warm-up comedian for The Cosby Show, which helped him gain valuable industry experience.

In addition to his stand-up career, Godfrey has appeared in films such as Soul Plane (2004), Original Gangstas (1996), Zoolander (2001), and Johnson Family Vacation (2004). He became widely recognized as the spokesperson for 7 Up during the popular "7up yours" advertising campaign. Godfrey has also made numerous television appearances, including roles on 30 Rock, Third Watch, and Louie. As a voice actor, he contributed to The Mr. Men Show and the film Joe's Apartment.

Currently, Godfrey is a regular performer at the Comedy Cellar in New York City. He hosts the podcast In Godfrey We Trust on the GaS Digital Network, where he discusses various topics with his characteristic humor and insight. Godfrey continues to tour nationally, bringing his dynamic comedic style to audiences across the country.
